DJI Mavic Pro review

$ 947.50

DJI Mavic Pro, one of the most entertaining devices out there recently, brings a new breath to the technology world. Foldable compact design, range up to 7 km and 4K video quality reveals the difference Mavic Pro, with all the details under the lens.

Continuing dominance in the market with Phantom series drones, DJI is consolidating its position on the market with every new drone that it has launched into the market. Mavic Pro, which recently joined the DJI’s drone family, continues the success that Phantom exhibits and, in some ways, succeeds in keeping Phantom behind. Even though it is a compact size, it has a very strong performance and Mavic Pro is the most best. You can find the answers to all the questions you are wondering about Mavic Pro in detail. Let’s not extend the word any longer, and let’s start with the design of the drone.

DESIGN CREATING DIFFERENCE

No doubt the most striking feature of DJI Mavic Pro is that it has a foldable design. Much smaller than the Phantom series drone, the Mavic Pro is the DJI’s most compact drone if you put the Spark on sale for a while. DJI Mavic Pro, which we thought to investigate for a long time, was able to impress us with its design as well as the features it offers. The first thing that affected us when we took the drone out of the box and took it away was the solid body of Mavic Pro. The drone has a very high quality and durable body, and it has one camera and four sensors.

Two sensors on the front of the drone protect the drone from any collision. Of course, this feature has to be turned on before you can activate it. Note that collision avoidance does not work when in Sport mode. In long distance flights, especially from low altitudes, drones can hit any sledge or different objects. The sensors on the DJI Mavic Pro detect the distance of 15 meters and help the drone to brake or avoid the obstacle.

The so-called FlightAutonomy technology protects the drone from crashing by scanning the environment in 3D before the drone lifts up. The sensors in the drone also allow you to fly the drone safely and steadily where there is no GPS signal. When we compare the DJI Mavic Pro to the Spark model, the drone is bigger than the Spark but much smaller than the Phantom. Mavic Pro, which can easily fit into a DLSR case when the wings are folded, weighs 743 grams. If you are a frequent traveler and you do not want to carry a big bag with you, you’ll be impressed by the compact size of the Mavic Pro. Four propellers come out of the additional box and two propellers from the extrude. The remote that came with the Mavic Pro also has a very successful design. With the size of a game controller, the ergonomic design of the controller has allowed us to get a full note from us.

DJI Mavic Pro control

It is possible to display flight information such as altitude, distance and speed through the LCD screen on the screen. It features a high visibility under the sunlight to return home, video, photo, power, C1 and C2 customizable keys and wheels for camera control. From the analogue bars we are familiar with game controls, the bar on the left side allows you to adjust the height of the drone to the left / right, and the bar on the right allows you to move the drone forward or backward. When the controller’s battery is fully charged, let’s not forget that you can use the commander 8-9 times.

EXTREMELY PERFORMANCE

DJI Mavic Pro draws attention with its performance as compact design. Despite being in a compact size, the Mavic Pro, with many of the features found in Phantom 4, has managed to fascinate us with its extraordinary performance. It is quite simple for the drone to get ready for flight. After the wings are opened and the gimbal protector removed, the compass must be set before each flight in the drone, which is ready for flight. A second important issue after making this setting is to determine your home location. If you set the home point before each flight and you activate the return home feature, the drone can go back to the last recorded point. It is useful to underline the location. If you are flying in a place with high buildings, you need to determine the altitude at which you return home. However, it is useful to open the obstacle detection sensors before flying.

If you choose sport mode, let’s again underline that obstacle detection does not work. When Sport mode is selected, the drone can go up to about 65 kilometers per hour. Of course the drone is reaching this speed in a windless environment. Even though the drone we use in windy weather shows a successful performance, it is necessary to keep it from scratch. We want to share an important piece of information about Mavic Pro, which we have tested in most places in Istanbul and Çeşme. When you send Drone to a remote place, you need to add the wind to the account. The Mavic Pro was almost in the sea because of too much wind. If we succeeded in bringing the final and drone to a different spot, this could have been a painful result. It is useful to note that the windshield is heavily loaded with piles and the drone moves very slowly even in sport mode. If you are a drone user, you can use the UAV Forecast application which gives you information about the wind speed situation.

There is one more important point we want to share about the drone. The obstacle detection system on the front of the Mavic Pro can be a problem in sunny weather. For example, if you are flying the drone against the sun, Mavic Pro perceives the sun as an obstacle. When we want to bring the drone back to our home with a fly in a flight, the drone perceived the sun as an obstacle and did not come back. It is useful to note that we have removed the drone from the automatic pilot and brought it back with manual control.

Another important difference that distinguishes Mavic Pro from other drones on the market is its range. While the DJI Spark has a range of 2 kilometers with the optional control, Mavic Pro offers a 7-kilometer range, like the Phantom 4 Pro. DJI, Mavic Pro’s range of 7 kilometers in the clear, although we have watched videos on YouTube, there are those who raised this figure to 9 kilometers. We made a flight with a drone with a total of 14 kilometers of round trip, which many would not dare. We sent Mavic Pro from Suadiye coast to Kınalıada. Yes, you did not hear wrong. We were able to send the Mavic Pro to the island about 5,2 kilometers away in sport mode. Of course, let’s underline what we have done in this environment where there is very little wind. Let’s say that when we send the drone from the 52 meter high to the island, it is 75 percent of the battery level, and when the drone is back it is 19 percent of the battery level.

INTELLIGENT FLIGHT MODES

In addition to its compact design and performance, the drone is also noted for its intelligent features. Thanks to the feature called Active Track, Mavic Pro can automatically follow a car, a bicycle, a boat or a moving object. TapFly mode allows you to send Mavic Pro to any point of your phone by touching the screen. Terrarin While in Follow mode, the drone can automatically record users when climbing or descending. Tripod mode helps to slow down and speed up delicate flights by limiting the speed of the drone.

CAMERA PERFORMANCE

Come on Drone’s camera performance. The 1 / 2.3 inch 12.3 inch camera is the preferred drone, 24 frames per second 4K video, 96 frames full HD video at the moment allows. Let’s say that Drone’s camera performs very well and performs sharp and sharp photographs.

In terms of camera performance, the camera is a bit better than the upper-segment phones, but it also allows manual shooting. The drone, which you can also take pictures in RAW format, also allows vertical shooting in portrait mode. With 3-axis gimbal and smooth video performance even in windy weather, DJI Mavic Pro is a quadruple drone to pick up. If you do not have a budget problem and are interested in drones, we think you should definitely check out the best drone Mavic Pro you can buy on the market.
