Huawei’s main social responsibility project, ‘Seeds for the Future’, started in Turkey with the online opening ceremony.
The week-long program aims to develop the skills of young people who are experts in the field of information and communication technologies, with workshops, as well as trainings to be given over live and video tape broadcasts. The Turkey leg of Huawei’s “Seeds for the Future 2021” project will be held online this year due to the pandemic. This year, a total of 586 university students from the electronics and computer science departments applied to the program; 50 students were selected according to their grade point averages, completed projects and English level. Huawei Turkey will include 20 high school students as guest participants in the program for the first time this year.

First launched in Thailand in 2008, the Seeds for the Future Program now covers 130 countries. 8,774 students have benefited from the program so far. Successful students from universities in Turkey have been participating in the program since 2015. The quota of the program, which was completed by 40 students last year, was increased to 50 students this year.
