Tesla seems about to try a new way of using laser beams. Company using laser beams as a windshield wiper thinks.

Tesla has applied to the US patent office for a patent on a technology that uses lasers to remove dirt from the windshield and other glass parts of the vehicle.

Patent, ” Pulsed laser removal of deposits on glassware in vehicles and photovoltaic systems“. According to the patent, laser beams ” shall include a beam optics assembly to function as a cleaning apparatus for the vehicle and configured to emit a laser beam over a region on a vehicle-mounted glassware“.

Of course, this is just a patent application. It is not known whether this technology will actually be developed or whether we will see self-cleaning vehicles on the roads in the future. Tesla also applied for a new glass technology patent for Cybertruck last month.
