Technological devices have long become commonplace for users of all ages. While kids use them to watch content and play games, adults rely on technology to stay in touch with friends and family. However, it is very important to ensure that every device is updated in a timely manner to ensure a reliable level of security and high performance.
Considering that 34% of adults surveyed found installing updates frustrating, it’s not hard to understand the lack of interest or reluctance among family members for regular updates.
The survey also shows that 77% of adults often install updates on their home devices, whether they live alone or with their families. Situations where individuals are responsible for their own technological devices are less common (12%). At the same time, spouses (7%) and children (4%) rarely update their devices, according to survey respondents.
To make managing updates a more positive activity for all family members, Kaspersky collaborated with renowned blogger, yoga teacher and personal trainer Shona Vertue to create a short simple exercise course that can be completed while updates are made. The course is quite simple and can be done by anyone at home. The said video can be accessed from this link.
Marina Titova, Head of Consumer Products Marketing at Kaspersky, comments: ” As almost all members of modern families use technological devices, installing updates becomes a real family affair. Research results show that practically all family members are involved to some extent in this process. We find that more than a third (35%) of those surveyed discuss the importance of updates with family members. This probably shows how seriously users take the safety of themselves and their loved ones online. Timely installation of updates helps not only to gain access to new functions and interfaces, but also to maintain a high level of device security. This ensures that all devices work quickly and optimally, while keeping the personal data of all family members safe.. ”
