Ted Peterson and Julian LeFay, one of the lead developers of the original Elder Scrolls, Arena and Daggerfall, announced their first game as OnceLost Games, which they founded in 2019. The Wayward Realms will be a one-player fantasy RPG set in an open world. It seems to be a game that should be followed immediately, especially by those who love the Elder Scrolls series.
According to the description on the game’s Steam page, The Wayward Realms will take place in an area of over 100 realistic-sized islands, collectively called the Archipelago, where multiple factions struggle for power. “Kingdoms will try to maintain their dominance, new factions will seek a place at the top, dynasties will set plans that will last for generations. If players can rise to a position of influence, they will be able to change the course of history,” it says.
In the game, we will fight “opponents, mercenaries, monsters, spirits and demons”, you will understand full fantastic environments.
Perhaps one of the most striking sentences on the page is about the size of the game: “The Wayward Realms will be bigger than most other games you can think of. Giant cities hosting thousands of NPCs, deep, dark and dangerous environments, huge mountainous terrains, swamps, vast oceans and more will come to life in a dynamic, procedural way.”
It is not yet clear when such an ambitious game will be released.
