Always On (Apple Watch Series 5 only)

Always On (Apple Watch Series 5 only)
  • Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.
  • Touch Screen and Brightness, then touch Always On.
  • Open Always On.
  • Keep your calendar events, messages, heart rate, etc. with your wrist down. Turn on hiding Sensitive Complications to hide it.

Wake the Apple Watch screen

You can wake the Apple Watch screen in three ways:

  • Raise your arm. When you lower your arm, your Apple Watch goes to sleep again.
  • Touch the screen or press Digital Crown.
  • Turn the Digital Crown upwards.

To allow this, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone, tap My Watch, go to General> Wake Up Screen, then turn on Wake by Wake the Crown.

If your Apple Watch doesn’t wake up when you lift your wrist, make sure you choose the correct wrist and clockwise. If the Apple Watch does not wake up when you touch the screen or press or turn the Digital Crown, it may need to be charged.

Tip:

If you don’t want your Apple Watch to wake up when you lift your wrist, open the Settings app on your Apple Watch, go to General> Wake Up Screen, then turn off Wake Up Screen When the Arm is Raised. Or use cinema mode to temporarily prevent your Apple Watch from waking up when you lift your wrist.

Wake to your last activity

If you want your Apple Watch to always wake up to the watch face (except when you’re using the app), select Never If Not Session.

You can also do this using the Apple Watch app on your iPhone: Tap My Watch, then go to General> Wake Up Screen.
