iPhone 12 ready to go:
Only a few more weeks separate us from the presentation of the new iPhone 12. Now the last secret before the market launch is revealed, perhaps not a crucial detail, but damn good to know.
The picture of the upcoming iPhone 12 became more and more concrete in the rumor mill, for example, we recently learned of Apple’s unfortunate waiver – unfortunately, there won’t be displays with a 120 Hz refresh rate this year. The traitors are currently giving us a less important but interesting detail.
iPhone 12: Apple’s Final Naming Scheme Revealed
The insider “@ L0vetodream“, who has appeared accurately in the last few months, reveals the final names of all four models. The naming of the two inexpensive models creates clarity. According to him, we can get used to the sound of the following terms:
- iPhone 12 mini (5.4 inch)
- iPhone 12 (6.1 inch)
- iPhone 12 Pro (6.1 inch)
- iPhone 12 Pro Max (6.7 inch)
If this is actually true in the end, then Apple would use the term “mini” for the first time with the iPhone. This was previously used on the iPod and currently on the iPad and Mac. For the classification: So far there has been the assumption that Apple would simply name the 5.4-inch model as the iPhone 12, while the 6.1-inch model would be called the “iPhone 12 Max”. But now it’s going in the other direction and we can look forward to an iPhone mini for the first time.
No name changes among the pros
The naming scheme of the Pro models, on the other hand, remains unchanged and is therefore taken over from the predecessor without further ado. However, the display sizes of the OLED screens are not adopted. The iPhone 12 Pro has a 6.1-inch display instead of 5.8 inches and the iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch display instead of 6.5 inches. Ergo: With the Pro models it gets bigger, with the “normal model” on the other hand everything stays as it is, plus a new “mini edition”.
A presentation of all new iPhone models is expected at an Apple event in October. According to the latest information, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro will initially be available, while the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be delayed and will apparently only be sold in November.
