iPhone 12 vs iPhone 12 Pro:
Aside from the obvious contrasts, there is a much bigger difference between the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, but Apple does not mention it. Nevertheless, it has now been revealed elsewhere, CGH knows more.
Traditionally, Apple does not say a word about the size of the built-in memory in its iPhones, and this setting does not change with the new models either. Sooner or later this secret will also be revealed. This value is not unimportant, as the RAM size determines how quickly and smoothly the Apple mobile phone can handle various apps.
iPhone 12 vs. iPhone 12 Pro: That’s how much RAM Apple actually uses
Our colleagues from MacRumors are now shedding light on this with new disclosure, as the missing information was found in the beta of XCode 12.1 – Apple’s development environment for the Mac, with which apps for macOS, iPadOS, iOS, watchOS, and tvOS can be programmed. As a result, the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 have 4 GB of RAM, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max, in turn, a full 6 GB of RAM – apart from the camera setup, this is probably the most important difference. Worth mentioning: The predecessors (iPhone 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max) all got by with 4 GB of RAM, there were no differences in this regard.
This is the iPhone 12:
How fast are the new Apple phones?
Speaking of which: Not least because of the new Apple A14 Bionic Chip, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro should increase their performance considerably. MacRumors already refers to a first benchmark (Geekbench) that has already appeared. As a result, the A14 in the iPhone 12 Pro operates about as fast as in the new iPad Air 4 – we reported. However, multicore values are significantly lower. MacRumors suspects the cause to be a special feature of the measurement; if Geekbench is run on the iPhone shortly after it has been set up, this can temporarily lower the values. But there will only be certain when further benchmarks are added in the future.
And this is how Apple presents the iPhone 12 Pro:
The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro can be pre-ordered from October 16, and delivery will start on Friday, October 23. A little more patience is required when purchasing the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12 Pro Max, the two Apple phones on the “outer edge” of the range can only be pre-ordered from November 6th, the actual release will then take place on November 13th, 2020.
