Pokemon Go is one of the rare games that grows and evolves with its community. Developer Niantic had made some updates to keep the players, who had to stay at home during the pandemic, from the game. At the beginning of these improvements were the reach distances of PokeStop and Gyms.
In the original version of the game, you had to be within 40 meters of this area to interact with a random PokeStop or Gym. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the developer had increased this distance to 80 meters for a while. With the pandemic slowly leaving our environment, Niantic aimed to restore this gap. However, the rebellion of the players caused Niantic to back down.
Explaining that it takes into account the signature campaign attended by tens of thousands of players, Niantic announced that the distance will now remain as 80 meters. We will have the opportunity to see new details about this update, which will be valid from today, but next week.
