Nvidia unpacks a new graphics card
Actually, Nvidia is still struggling with a few problems with the launch of the new RTX 3000 graphics cards. But that doesn’t seem to stop the manufacturer from getting the next trump cards in position – according to a current leak.
More memory for RTX 3070 and RTX 3080: Nvidia plans to upgrade graphics cards
It has been more than a month since Nvidia’s new graphics cards were introduced. After the official Livestream, expectations of the GPUs were almost utopian – but the real problem for Nvidia is completely different. The graphics card manufacturer simply cannot keep up with the production of the new models – both the Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 and RTX 3090 are almost completely sold out.
But Nvidia doesn’t really seem to care. Instead, they are already planning the next prank, which was already rumored in advance. According to Videocardz, Nvidia is to put two more graphics cards on the shelves in December: souped-up versions of the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080.
While the RTX 3070 can currently fall back on 8 GB of VRAM and the RTX 3080 has to be satisfied with 10 GB, the new versions should get twice as much video memory. As a result, the RTX 3070 would then have 16 GB available, the improved RTX 3080 should even look forward to 20 GB of VRAM.
Not only chic but also something under the hood – the new RTX 3080 from Nvidia:
Nvidia’s graphics cards are getting even better: Price and launch date are still unknown
Nvidia has so far neither confirmed nor denied the reports – but one should not expect an official statement either. Further information is still in short supply. What potential buyers should be particularly interested in: How high is the surcharge for the premium models of the RTX 3070 and RTX 3080? And for whom is the investment in the storage monsters worthwhile?
We’ll probably only find out more shortly before the new models are launched – if they exist at all. In addition, the start of the pimped graphics cards could be postponed due to the current problem. CGH will keep you updated.
