Tencent is undoubtedly one of the largest companies in the world; continues to grow day by day. Their target this time was a studio from England; They are buying Sumo for $1.27 Billion.

As we know, there are many game companies that Tencent has bought or partnered with. According to the news shared by Reuters; Sumo is getting ready to take its place on the list as the newest of these. The deal comes right after Tencent’s attempt to merge 2 separate game streaming sites in China (Huya and DouYu) was rejected by the Chinese government under anti-trust regulations.

We can say that Tencent, which is currently the second highest-grossing company in the game world after Sony, has made another important move by acquiring Sumo, which also developed Sackboy: A Big Adventure, one of the PS5’s debut games.

There are also statements from the Sumo front that they are satisfied with the agreement. “The opportunity to work with Tencent was one we couldn’t miss,” says Carl Cavers, the firm’s founder. We don’t know what the next days will bring. Will they continue in their old style again or if there will be a change, we will see this together in the coming period.

Thus, another company came under the wing of one of the greats of the game world, let’s see which studio will be next.
