Pearl Abyss showed off gameplay footage of DokeV, the new Pokemon-inspired open-world creature collecting game, at gamescom 2021 opening night, and many of us marveled at the footage. It seems to be a very successful game with its chirpy graphics and mechanics.
This game was previously said to be a DVO, but Pearl Abyss points out that it has been abandoned in its new statement, so it will be a single player (maybe there are also multiplayer parts, it is not obvious now) open world game. Although the description of the game in the Google cache of the website still says “DokeV | Open World MMO – Pearl Abyss”, when you enter its page, the title shows as “DokeV | An Open World Action-Adventure”, that is, it is an Open World Action Adventure game.
A statement was also made on the DokeV Twitter account: “We first introduced DokeV as a DVO, but we decided to take the game in a different direction and changed the genre to open world action adventure. Revel, colors and adventure await you regardless of the type!”
The game’s description also states, “DokeV is an open world creature-collecting action adventure game set in a unique world full of astonishing stories. Welcome to a vibrant and vibrant world where Humans and Dokebi live together.”
So even though you will see the words “DokeV MMO” in the headlines in more than one place today, know that this is not factual information 🙂
For those who missed the trailer or want to watch it again, I’ll leave it below:
